New Speaker Announced: Dr. David A. Wheeler
We've added our final speaker to the GOSCON Cost Take Out Panel: David A. Wheeler. Dr. Wheeler is a Research Staff Member at the Institute for Defense Analyses and is an expert on developing secure software and the use of open source software in the security space. He is the author of several well known works in this space, including Secure Programming for Linux and Unix HOWTO, Why Open Source Software / Free Software (OSS/FS)?, Look at the Numbers!, and How to Evaluate OSS/FS Programs.
Dr. Wheeler received his PhD in Information Technology from George Mason University. His work, More than a Gigabuck: Estimating GNU/Linux's Size, is the seminal work on the costs savings inherent in the use of open source software by government.
