GOSCON announces first awards program for use of Open Source Technology in Government
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2009 "Excellence Awards for Open Source Business Use in Government". The awards will recognize government employees who have made significant accomplishments in the application of Open Source Technology to meet government business or mission requirements.
Inspired in part by the goals of the US Federal 2009 IT Strategy "Five Pillars", awards willl be made to employees or teams of employees from Federal, State, and Local Government.
Details of the awards program and the on-line nomination form can be found on the conference web site. Deadline for submission is October 23, 2009. Awards will be presented at GOSCON DC on Nov 5, 2009.
