Conference Host | OSU Open Source Lab
GOSCON is a non-profit educational conference produced by Oregon State University’s Open Source Lab as part of its mission to educate and build community. The Open Source Lab is the home of growing, high-impact open source communities. Its world-class hosting services have enabled the Linux operating system, Apache web server, the Firefox web browser and over 50 other leading open source software projects to collaborate with contributors and distribute software to millions of users globally. Through custom software development, vendor partnerships and industry events like the Government Open Source Conference (GOSCON), the Lab's staff and students encourage open source adoption in education, government, health care and other sectors.
In 2005 a Public Sector program was established to educate and share information amongst governmental organizations and others. The Government Open Source Conference was established as a flagship contribution to public service management.
