GOSCON DC will gather governmental and industry leadership to create an unrivaled cross-industry conversation to explore the issues, experience and business case for open source. The new Open Technology Forum provides an additional opportunity for technical staff to partiicpate and learn and Open Technology solutions.
Background: GOSCON was created to educate and inform senior information and communications technology managers and public administrators on the essential concepts, the promise and emerging practice of OSS in 2005. The initial conference was held in Portland, Oregon USA, where the small venue immediately sold out to attendees from across the US and abroad. What was initiated as a regional conference that drew an international following has become an annual international event located on the West Coast, providing an outstanding platform for collaboration and information exchange in the public sector.
